About Us

The Graduate Program in Art History at York is a dynamic, flexible and evolving course of study. Responsive to individual student needs, the program offers a range of courses, internships, visual resources and faculty interests.

The Graduate Program in Art History is designed to meet contemporary Canadian needs in the areas of art and architectural history, critical theory and writing, visual culture, and the gallery and museum field. It focuses on the Canadian heritage in the visual arts, which is defined as works of art made by Canadians and works which have been brought to Canada to find a permanent home here. The program is bilingual in principal.
